We’ve been asked a couple of questions about this project. Here are the most common ones.
Okay, I’m here checking this thing out, but I still don’t get it. What’s this Seeker Wall for and what’s the point of it all?
Terry Goodkind’s representative suggested that we could take pictures of ourselves as Legend of the Seeker fans and send them to networks. In response to this brilliant idea, we came up with an easy way for these fan photos to be compiled into one collective website that could be seen by these execs in one neat location: The Seeker Wall. Register for The Seeker Wall and you can submit your fan photo while you wait for snail mail to deliver the hard copy to the network execs.
A webpage like this would be really cool to pass around on the Internet because people from far away could instantaneously upload their photos while we wait for their snail mailed photos to end up in the network execs’ offices. Plus it has more potential to grow in number–a. k. a. become viral!–and it would be absolutely impressive to see all the faces compiled like that.
I don’t know where my post went. Why isn’t it on the main page?
As a safety precaution, all user submissions are to be reviewed by the staff before they get published on the site. In addition, some picture uploads need some resizing as well. The staff members are here to help everyone resize, reattach, or re-upload pictures. If you need any help, you may either leave a comment on any of our entries, or leave a message in the message box in your user Dashboard (assuming that you have logged in).
Another reason that your post may have not appeared is that you may not have uploaded a picture at all. It is also possible that you have broken one of the rules. Please make sure that you post only photos of yourself, part of yourself, your belongings, and anything that is your property. There are actions that are not allowed, such as: taking other people’s artwork, uploading photos of other fandoms, and uploading Legend of the Seeker photos without anything on it [e.g., you just uploaded an official photo from the show and that's it--no message, no writing, nothing].
I don’t want to register. Could I just email you? Where should I send it?
Send your photos to [email protected] and we’ll take care of it for you. Feel free to include an optional message, as well as a username or a name to credit you with.
My image is stretching the page. How do I fix this?
There are a few steps, but don’t worry, I’ll walk you through it.
Save your entry as a Draft by selecting “Save Draft” on the upper-right side of your editing area.
Now go to Webresizer to upload your picture for resizing.
Scroll down to the grey box below and edit the box labeled “New Size”. Enter 750 and make sure the width button is selected.
Select the Apply Changes button.
As soon as the new image loads, select “download this image” and save it to your computer. Make sure you know where you saved it so that you may come back to it again.
Assuming that you’re still logged in, return to the Seeker Wall Dashboard and look for your saved draft.
Select your draft for editing.
Click on the “Add an Image” icon and upload your newly resized photo.
Save any changes and close the popup uploader.
Save your draft.
Hit “Preview” to see if it worked.
Once you see that you’ve been successful, submit your entry for review.
Hope that was helpful! If you’re still having trouble, just save it as a Draft and we’ll take care of it for you.
I can’t take a picture of myself yet because [various reasons from many fans]. Is there a deadline for this?
There’s no deadline. We’re just collecting a lot of fan photos as much as we can and we’re hoping that we could generate some buzz in the process! Take as much time as you need (please don’t take up a whole year, thankyouverymuch). The Seeker Wall is here to stay. Yes, we did have a deadline for the Seeker Wall photo book that we sent to ABC, Sam Raimi, and Rob Tapert, but that has long passed. What you could still do is to help contribute by adding your photo to the Wall. We have placed the site’s URL front and center in the photo book so that ABC/Sam Raimi/Rob Tapert could go check out the site and see the Wall in its full glory.
